    Summer 2025

Royal Norfolk Show School Competition Garden

This year, the Royal Norfolk Show School Gardening Competition took on a creative new theme- literature! Gardening Club rose to the challenge, designing a flower garden inspired by ‘The Secret Sky Garden,’ where a girl creates a garden on a disused car park rooftop, repurposing tyres and containers that would otherwise be in landfill. On Wednesday, our gardeners presented to the competition judges. Not only did they showcase the garden, but they also spoke passionately about their mission: rewilding urban spaces and connecting with nature, even in the most unexpected places. They were awarded a GOLD- a huge well done to the Gardening Club for your creativity, dedication, and green fingers!

    Feedback from the judges:

"A fantastic effort from all involved! The students showed great enthusiasm and confidently spoke about the garden's design and its meaningful connection to the story. The creative use of props and carefully chosen plants really brought the theme to life. A thoughtful and engaging presentation, well done!"

Gardening club walked to the cemetery and met David and Katie from the council. We explored the habitats in the cemetery and made bird feeders for the wildlife that lives there. As part of the 'Million Trees for Norfolk' project we planted two cherry trees to increase ecological diversity.
